Tessa d.
Private tutor in Wollongong, Australia
Education
I undertook my education in Mauritius. I completed my last year of the French baccalauréat in 2014 with first honours (ATAR equivalent of >99). In 2015 I commenced my Biomedicine undergraduate degree at the University of Melbourne and graduated in 2017. I am currently studying and enjoying my Doctor of Medicine degree at the university of Wollongong completing my Phase 2 (second-third year)
Experience
I tutored a South African student in Mauritius who is now doing French in their third year of University. I saw this student twice a week during their university holidays. I would like to continue to tutor French in Australia. I took the IELTS in order to secure my place at the University of Melbourne, demonstrating a certain level of English competency. During school I studied French Literature as well as French History and Philosophy. Subjects that contribute well to my knowledge of French culture. At university I received an H1 in Academic English 2, a subject targeted at non native English speakers. My biomedicine undergraduate also exposed me to a high level of biology, focusing on the human body. My third year major was pathology where I received first grade honours. I also tutored French through the ITAP program of UOW in 2018.

Hobbies
I love to travel, play tennis, go sailing, and spend time with my friends and family. Through playing tennis competitively I had the opportunity to travel, meet new people, discover new cultures and try to learn new languages. My travels included Kenya, Tanzania, Europe, Reunion Island and the United States. These experiences taught me a lot about myself as well as about other people and how to interact with them.
